THOMPSON SCOUTING, a division of Thompson Solutions, LLC., Is Now Hiring: Scout / Recruiting Consultants We are looking for EXPERIENCED motivated individuals to join our growing network of talent scouts across the country. Position Summary: The Commission-Based Football Scout / Recruiting Consultant plays a key role in identifying and mentoring high school football players with college potential. Representing the trusted brand of THOMPSON SCOUTING, you will scout talent at games, practices, camps, and combines; conduct athlete evaluations; and guide families through the recruiting process. Your role is to promote qualified prospects to college programs while providing honest, informed feedback to help athletes understand their next steps. This is a Commission-Based opportunity, best suited for passionate football professionals — who want to make an impact while building relationships with athletes, parents, high school & college programs. Position Responsibilities: As a Commission-Based Football Scout / Recruiting Consultant with THOMPSON SCOUTING, you will: + Scout and Evaluate Talent: Attend high school football games, camps, and combines to identify and assess potential college-level athletes. + Perform Athlete Evaluations: Analyze game film, physical metrics, and in-person performance to deliver honest, actionable feedback. + Develop Relationships: Build strong, professional relationships with athletes, parents, high school & college coaches. +Guide the Recruiting Journey: Educate families on the recruiting process, including NCAA/NAIA eligibility requirements, timelines, and strategies. + Promote Athletes to Colleges: Share athlete evaluations, profiles, and highlight film with college coaches to help generate interest and opportunities. + Manage Athlete Data: Maintain detailed and organized records of scouting reports, athlete communications, and recruiting progress. + Represent the Brand Locally: Serve as a respected local representative of THOMPSON SCOUTING, promoting our mission and services. + Utilize Provided Resources: Leverage branded apparel, marketing materials, and digital tools supplied by the company to support recruiting efforts. + Stay Current on Recruiting Trends: Monitor changes in recruiting rules, college needs, and football scouting practices to remain effective and credible. + Achieve Performance Metrics: Work toward defined performance goals based on athlete sign-ups, successful placements, and referrals—compensated through commissions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Self-Motivation & Discipline - Works independently, meets goals, and stays productive without daily oversight. + Football Knowledge & Evaluation Skills - Deep understanding of football fundamentals, positions, and what college programs look for in prospects. + Talent Identification - Ability to recognize athletic potential and project player development. + Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Comfortable engaging with athletes, families, coaches, and college recruiters in a professional manner. + Recruiting Process Knowledge - Familiarity with NCAA/NAIA eligibility, recruiting timelines, NIL, revenue-share and the transfer portal. + Networking & Relationship-Building - Ability to build lasting relationships in the football community to enhance scouting reach and credibility. + Organizational Skills - Capable of tracking multiple athletes, maintaining records, and managing a personal scouting schedule. + Sales & Persuasion - Confident in presenting services and securing buy-in from athletes and families (commission-based model). + Tech Savvy - Comfortable using digital platforms, email, social media, video tools, and recruiting databases.
