OUR NIL CREW
BT Thompson
Founder. NIL & Recruiting Consultant
An industry leader with thirty-three years of recruiting and coaching experience, BT Thompson began developing athletes in 1992 in Dallas, TX. In 1993, he returned to California and added a recruiting component to help under-recruited student-athletes reach the next level. Today, BT also assists athletes with NIL (Name, Image & Likeness)—helping them build their brands, secure opportunities, and maximize their value in the modern college landscape.
BT is the patriarch of the Sacramento, California–based Thompson Family, where athletics runs deep. Nine immediate family members advanced to college athletics, with four reaching the professional ranks.
The Thompson family legacy is highlighted by:
+ Peyton Thompson (BT’s son, San Jose State) – six NFL seasons, finishing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
+ Syd’Quan Thompson (BT’s nephew, Grant HS & Cal) – 3x High School All-American, 3x College All-American, and NFL draft pick of the Denver Broncos.
+ Shaq Thompson (Syd’Quan’s younger brother, Grant HS & Washington) – 3x High School All-American, 2x College All-American, Paul Hornung Award Winner, Heisman Trophy candidate, and 1st-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers.
Marcus Thompson Jr. (BT’s nephew) – sharpshooter who spent two seasons with the Adams State Grizzlies basketball program.
From coaching championship teams at Del Oro High School, Sierra College, Nike Training Camps and National Preps Collegiate Showcases, to assisting athletes with NIL opportunities today, BT Thompson continues to guide athletes on their journey from high school to college and into the pros.
